Tiger Study
I was watching a documentary on tigers yesterday and I saw a photo of a tiger hiding behind the grass and suddenly I felt the need to paint the same. As this is not my photo it is not a my painting. I just did this study to learn more.

Bridge
This is a photo taken in a garden near my house. Its a peaceful place for a evening walk full of greenery and one small stream flowing though middle.
Gift of secenity
I came across this place on my last Himalayan trek. You could see the long range of Himalayan mountains, snow capped at the back and clouds covering the top. Somehow one feels at ease just by sitting here. And mysteriously all problems of life seem to disappear as if these mountains have lifted a veil and gave us the gimps of our true nature.

Swargrohini (A way to heaven)
This a painting of the famous Swargrohini peak, one of the mountains of the Himalayan range. I had been there last spring. you need to trek for 3 days to reach this place. We had camped there for 2 days. In those 2 days I took many photos of the surroundings and this reference picture is one from that.
In the Indian mythology (in Mahabharata), the eldest brother of the Pandavas Yudishthir (also known as Dharm because he never committed any crime, not even a simple lie in his entire life) went to heaven from the top of this mountain. Hence the name of the mountain is Swargrohini . Swarg means heaven. Even though this mountain is not as high as Everest, it is so difficult to climb that till the day, no one is known to climb this mountain successfully.
I am not a mountaineer so I am not going to try to climb one. I just love to watch the mountains from a distance and enjoy the peaceful feeling they create in my heart.

Cotton clouds
This place is very near to my house. I go there many times with my friends and family to enjoy the peaceful environment. It has a big lake in between surrounded by lots of greenery and rice paddies. This photo was taken right after the rain. It was lush green everywhere accompanied by the pleasant smell of rice grass, and sound of chirping birds. Clouds were looking like cotton balls kept in vast blue sky. I sat on the ground for a long time enjoying this sensual treat. Came home and painted this.

House in the woods
I had been on a trek near Dalahousie in January .This photo was taken on kalatop situated on the foothill on Himalaya. It was late afternoon and sun was about to set. So a warm glow had fallen on everything. Tree tops, house and grass were looking as if they were wearing golden robes.
I did a small sketch for a study and took many photos. I did this painting yesterday from the photo reference.

Loner
I took this photo while I was roaming to search a location in hampi. This horse was roaming alone, grazing on the green patches on the land, without minding the people around him who were trying to photograph him.
This was my first attempt to draw an animal. I think it turned out well.

Hampi 1 (Sold)
I returned day before yesterday from hampi. Its a beautiful place. Its a rare combination of the man made and natural beauty at a same place. It has beautiful man made structures which will make speechless and most beautiful rocks all over hampi. Those who are visiting India must take some time to visit hampi.
I had done a small sketch and a watercolor painting on a location. I did this painting after coming home.
Boat
I had done this painting on the spot in Goa last year. the day was really hot and I had to hurry as i was sitting in direct sun light.
Wild Flowers
Near my house in the hearth of the city there is this huge unused land where nothing has been constructed yet. I pass this patch every weekend and at this time of a year it looks really beautiful because of these yellow wild flowers. These flowers covers almost every inch of this land and it really looks nice. Last weekend I brought home some of these flowers and painted this.
Reflections
This place is very near my home. I had done this couple of months back on the spot itself. It was a pleasant day and river was reflecting everything like mirror. I just enjoyed painting this.
Roses
Its a festival time in India and we decorate our house with different flowers and lights this time of a year. I just felt like painting them and here is the result..

Mountain Stream
I had been on a trek in Himalayas last year. Spring had just started so it was green everywhere with lots of wild flowers and lots of streams. Cows and goats were grazing everywhere and the weather was just pleasant. I just remembered all of it while painting this from a photograph.
I am unable to take a proper photograph of this painting. May be because of my camera on may be because my photography skills are not that good :P. But the painting looks better than the photograph.
House Boat
I had been on a kerala trip few years ago. We had stayed on a house boat in backwaters. While we were traveling we came across another boat. Sun had just set and everything had become lovely pink and violate. I took that reference picture to paint this.
Still Life 1
After experimenting a lot I decided to go with this composition. I used to feel that still life painting is lot more easier than landscapes but then while composing this I realized that it is not... I am experimenting every day with my paintings and learning something new every time. In this I have tried black background. Hope I will improve my composition skill in future.
Fruits Everywhere
My mother had bought these fruits the other day. They were looking really fresh and tempting. I had never done this type of still life before with so many fruits in it. I thought of trying and did this painting.
Stormy Cloud (Sold)
It was a perfect day to cuddle in a warm blanket and sip a hot cup of coffee. Ummmm... The monsoon had started in india and it was pouring like crazy. Everything had become so green as if someone had laid a green carpet all over the place. I just love rainy season.
This place is quite near to my house. I just took a photograph as it was hard to paint in that condition came home and painted this.
